My hope for you

Poetry speaks to our minds and hearts and is meant to communicate more than the sum of its words. It is an apt expression of our walk with the Lord. I encourage you to forward this link to those you love. I pray this poetry leads you into reflection and prayer but I also want to start a conversation. You, too, have something to share with others-not only in person, but also here. Your experience is yours to give away to build up and learn from others in the Body of Christ. Share the word that you hear, the experiences you have lived. We are all part of the New Evangelization. If you also want to contact me by email, feel free: genefirn@yahoo.com

The Devil

beware...the Devil...your
Enemy -the father of lies...
master of deceit...
accuser of the brethren and
murderer of all who fall into
his hands both spiritually
and physically if possible -
plies his trade among unsuspecting
targets oblivious to his deviousness
while they joke about the myth
of his existence purported by
medieval zealots clothed in black
the fictitious conclusion derived at
just the way he likes it with
scoffing at even the hint of
objective Truth which instead
he inculcates that reality is
what you say it is and 'sin'
is a 'control tool ' of the 'right'
and thus that 'scary devil with
horns' and 'eternal fires of hell'
is a fiction to frighten dupes
into Churches for money sake...
and you can hear the victory
celebration in the dark end
zone of  the duped who now
belong to the demons forever
as the deceived sing
right is wrong
wrong is right
true is false
false is true -
if it exists at all  -
depending on whose definition
is used while the gods of this age -
all under the influence of his
shadowy disguise accuse
Followers of the Holy One of
totalitarianism and hate
mongering as the "judge nots"
judge Jesus' Disciples as way
too judgmental for today's
progressive society as the
Deceiver's pitiful victims
fall downward by unrighteous
decisions out of the 'anything
goes' / 'get it while you can' /
no one's telling me what I
can or can not do' / 'this is
all there is so go for it' and
so on and so forth...but even
the Churched fall into deceit
by not even speaking about
the Evil One and how to
combat his temptations /
deceptions...as the Believers
are left vulnerable to the
Enemy's tactics which lead
many into habits that wound
the tender-hearted and
harden the unsuspecting whose
repeated excesses produce
slaves of the flesh 'till it is
too late to turn back to the
Light...'all in good time' and
'slowly but surely' the end-game
is secured...
Eternal death his aspiration...
misery his accomplice...
evil his identity...
illusion his snare...
temptation his forte...
warfare hidden in the
vagaries of daily life
even though
he doesn't exist

Reflection/Discussion:

-How is Satan portrayed in Scripture?
-What are some of the signs of his existence today?
-He is the deceiver / liar, what are some lies people
believe about themselves / eternity / God / Christianity?
-What are some of his common temptations?
-Where do you see his deceptions present in our society?
-Do you see his deceptions in the Church? Where?
-How do you use your Spiritual Authority against his attacks?
-Read the Catholic Catechism to learn more.
-A Prayer life...Sacraments...Scripture Reading...Men's / Women's Groups
all are helpful to maintain and grow in one's Spiritual Life.
